A poem in honor of ACME Gears, a fictional company that is somewhat inspired by the ACME Corporation that supplies Wile E. Coyote from the Roadrunner cartoons with his devices. ACME Gears was invented by a history/geography teacher at SCA to help facilitate his assignments.

ACME Gears, the fabulous
Inventing things with pride
While being oh-so-careful
(Only two of them have died)
ACME employees, so brave,
Have still got to retire
And of course they aren’t immortal
For at some point they’ll expire
So the managers at ACME Gears,
Who manage there today
Decided to employ the help
Of us at SCA
We’ve been assigned to go around
The world, and learn a lot
About the countries and cultures there
(Cause ACME Gears forgot)
Traversing South America,
And sampling some cuisines
We met some nice alpacas
And ate a lot of beans
We travelled on to Mexico
And ate delicious foods
And when somebody sneezed
Then we were quick to say, “Salud!
The islands that inhabit
This place called, ‘Caribbean’
Are small, but full of culture
Which is mostly European
They were colonised by countries there
Some by two, or more
And most have cool volcanoes
Rising up from ocean floor
We took a blimp to Greenland
Or to Iceland (in two groups)
And both of these large islands
Are inhabited with shoops*
The food is mostly fresh and hearty
Other times, it’s odd
Like fermented shark, in Iceland
And also pickled cod
Then to Europe, we proceeded
For countries multitudinous
For lovely drink, and lovely food
And people pulchritudinous
There’s a holiday in Switzerland,
If strange, a funny one
It’s the Burning of the Böögg
Where they blow up snowmen (fun!)
Next, we fly to Asia
In the dirigible, but I insist
It does not belong to ACME Gears
And it does not exist
*This is the proper way to pluralise shoop, which many people mistakenly call a sheep, if you use this.
