It Isn’t Over Yet

Even though the school year is wrapping up, there’s still some loose ends to take care of.

by A.S. (8th Grade)

This is my last chance this year to have my very thorough and knowledgeable words put out into the Wide and Weary World. So with these last words, I bid adieu to our very faithful readers, whom I thank for making me a published authoress, and the seniors, as they are about to leave the school forever.

Now is a good time to reminisce about the past, as the only other option is to face our impending futures, which will not do, as that would be to admit that time steadily marches on and the only control we have on it is how we measure and use it. It has been great fun to be at the Upper School division of SCA. It will be different next year, though. Our seniors E.H, J.J, and N.C. will be leaving, and this saddens us—perhaps it does not sadden them, though.

I have not known N.C. very long, but it has been cool to learn about him and his interests, like his amazing photography, over the course of this year. Thank you for not being scared off. I also did not know J.J. very well. You are still terrifying and you keep squinting at me for some reason, but you are less scary than I thought you would be. I wish you success in your future endeavors. It is in my opinion that of the three seniors, E.H. is the rowdiest, as she has been causing trouble all year long. She is very cool and is great at taking charge, which is good because no one else here likes to. I don’t even have to wish her luck in her endeavours, because she is clearly already lucky, since she has had so many opportunities to know me. The school will be sad without you seniors. Have fun at college. Ha ha, you have to be freshmen again.
